ANDREA PRICE - COMPOSER

Andrea is a highly respected composer of brass band, instrumental, and choral music. Her works have been performed and recorded by many of the world's leading brass bands including YBS, Black Dyke, and Fodens, and she has been commissioned by several world-class soloists including Sheona White, Gary Curtin, and Brett Baker.

 

She has had works performed across Europe, as well as in the USA, Australia, and Japan. Andrea is passionate about education, and as well as teaching composition she also writes regularly for young choirs and ensembles. She has also been commissioned by the ABRSM and other exam boards.

CONDUCTOR / MUSICAL DIRECTOR

An established conductor and musical director, Andrea has worked with bands across the UK and abroad. She has conducted bands in all sections, and particularly enjoys working with youth bands. Her most recent position of Musical Director of the Wingates Brass Band saw the band return to full strength and secure their position in the Championship Section, with a top six finish at the North West Area Championships. 

ADJUDICATOR

Andrea has adjudicated at a wide range of regional, national, and international competitions including the DBBV German Open, almost all of the UK's Regional Championships, the National Youth Championships, and many local contests across the UK. With her keen ear, outstanding analytical skill, and ability to inspire through her constructive and caring feedback, she is in increasingly high demand as an adjudicator both in the UK and internationally. Andrea is a member of the UK Association of Brass Band Adjudicators.

PERFORMER

With a stellar career as a percussionist for bands including YBS and Black Dyke, Andrea has won every major brass band competition, recorded numerous CDs, and toured the world as a performer. Performance highlights include a concerto performance at the RNCM Festival of Brass, a solo tour to Japan, and accompanying the Australian virtuoso James Morrison in concerts in Sydney and Manchester.
